Tour Details
Welcome to Alberta’s third-largest city! If you've just arrived in Red Deer and don't know where to start, we’ll meet at the entrance to City Hall and kick off a free tour. Are you ready to explore this city surrounded by nature?
Once everyone has gathered, we’ll head into the heart of Red Deer, where we'll discover a city full of surprising stories, where the frontier spirit of the West coexists with a modern, inspiring community. Did you know that Red Deer is known as the “City of Opportunities”?
After taking in City Hall Park, we’ll stroll through the streets of Red Deer in search of some of its famous bronze statues. Each one depicts a real historical figure, ranging from pioneering doctors to some truly eccentric characters.
Next, we’ll head to the vibrant social heart of the city, Ross Street Patio. Here, we'll reveal everything about the outstanding local art scene, and you'll witness how the city's downtown has been transformed.
We'll also pass by The Buffalo Hotel, one of the most important landmarks in this Canadian town. We'll travel back in time to learn all about the “Wild West.” You'll love these stories!
The free tour will continue at the 1923 train station and the CPR Bridge, perfect for reliving the commercial boom of the early 20th century. Of course, we’ll walk along Gaetz Avenue, Red Deer’s main thoroughfare. This part of the city features numerous brick buildings from the last century that blend seamlessly with a thoroughly modern urban design.
Finally, we’ll head to the picturesque Red Deer River Valley to learn about the area's Indigenous history, and to wrap things up, we'll visit St. Luke's Anglican Church, one of the oldest buildings in town.
After a 3-hour guided tour, we'll return to the starting point, where the tour will come to an end.
