Pedra da Gavea Hike
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Point da Meire café in Rio de Janeiro. From there, we'll walk a few minutes to Tijuca National Park.
Once there, we will begin a hiking route to the top of Pedra da Gávea. Along the way, we'll witness Brazil's most representative fauna and vegetation.
Pedra da Gávea offers some of the most spectacular natural viewpoints in Rio de Janeiro, and reaching its summit is a dream for many travelers and locals. And no wonder, since it's the largest coastal monolith in the world!
From the summit, we'll admire Guanabara Bay and some of Rio de Janeiro's main beaches, such as Ipanema, Leblon, Barra da Tijuca, and São Conrado, as well as other mountains in Tijuca National Park, including Pico da Tijuca, Bico do Papagaio, Pedra Bonita, and Corcovado. On clear days, it's also possible to admire the mountains of the Serra dos Órgãos.
The route includes several sections of climbing and rappelling, allowing us to experience the local nature more intensely. Along the way, we'll make several stops to rest and refuel with the food you've brought.
After completing the tour, we'll return to the starting point in Rio to conclude this 8-hour activity.
