Mykonos and Delos Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We’ll meet at the Small Port of Naxos to set sail for Delos. After a pleasant crossing of approximately 2 hours, we’ll arrive at the island where, according to Greek mythology, Apollo and Artemis were born.
Once ashore, you’ll have 3 hours of free time on Delos. We certainly recommend visiting the ruins of the Temple of Apollo. At this archaeological site, you’ll find the famous Terrace of the Lions, the original marble pieces of which are housed in the Delos Museum.
Within this site, you’ll also see the ancient theatre, as well as the House of Dionysus, the House of the Comedians and the remains of the sanctuaries dedicated to the Sun God. Don’t miss the chance to climb Mount Cynthus for one of the best views of the island.
We’ll then return to the boat to sail to the neighbouring island: Mykonos. Did you know it’s one of Greece’s trendiest destinations? Once we arrive, you’ll have 3.5 hours of free time.
You can start by exploring the old harbour and the heart of the town, whose labyrinthine streets are characterised by whitewashed houses, blue windows and bougainvillea.
In the Matogiannia neighbourhood, you’ll find designer boutiques, art galleries and jewellery shops. If you’d prefer a cultural outing, you can visit the Mykonos Archaeological Museum, a building as photogenic as it is interesting, with exhibits that will immerse you in the history of the Cyclades.
Fancy something a bit more laid-back? You can walk to one of the beaches with golden sand and turquoise waters, such as Platis Gialos or Psarou. Or if partying’s your thing, several beach bars are waiting for you with music and guaranteed fun.
Before we leave, don’t miss Little Venice, the most romantic neighbourhood in Mykonos, where the houses look straight out to sea.
Finally, we’ll set off on the return journey to Naxos, arriving back at our starting point around 10 hours later.
