Delve into the history of the Cuban capital on this free walking tour of Havana. Discover the city's beautiful colonial architecture with an expert guide.

We'll meet at the indicated time and begin our free walking tour of Havana's colonial architecture with a visit to the famous Capitol.

From there, we'll head to the Gran Teatro de La Habana theatre and the most important building in the city, the National Capitol of Havana, seat of the national assembly. We'll then continue walking until we reach the Central Park where the statue of José Martí is located.

The free tour will take us past iconic bars such as La Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio, and as we make our way through the heart of Old Havana, we'll see the majestic Art Deco Bacardi Building. Our next stop will be Plaza de la Catedral, where we'll appreciate the baroque façade and towers of Havana Cathedral. This square is also home to a large number of elegant houses that belonged to colonial era landowners.

We'll next discover more of Havana's many pretty squares. In Plaza de San Francisco we'll get to see the church of the same name and the majestic Lonja del Comercio, the former stock exchange that dates back to 1909. After taking in the historic architecture of Plaza Vieja, we'll make our way to the Plaza de Armas, home to the Palace of the Captains General and El Templete, the monument to the founding of Havana 500 years ago.

After admiring the view of the La Cabaña and Morro Castle, a hilltop fortress built in the 16th century to guard the entrance to Havana Bay from pirates, our walking tour will come to an end after 3 hours.

Meeting Point

Depending on the time selected, the meeting point will be one of the following:

Tour at 10:45 am: we'll meet at Parque de la Fraternidad, next to the American Fraternity Tree
Tour at 8 pm: we will meet at the Fuente de la India

Groups

This free tour does not allow reservations for more than 6 people. If you're a larger group, please book our private tour of Havana instead.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. The maximum allowed is three children per adult.
