Conquer Los Volcanes National Park
Are you ready to explore one of the highest volcanoes along the Central American volcanic line? Lace up your sneakers, and let’s go!
After picking you up at the designated meeting point in El Tunco, we'll head to Los Volcanes National Park, home to three volcanoes: Santa Ana, Izalco, and Cerro Verde. This time, we’ll be taking on the challenge of climbing the highest of them all—Santa Ana.
Upon arrival at our destination, we'll embark on a hiking route that takes us through the region's characteristic tropical cloud forest. As we ascend, we'll be surrounded by centuries-old trees and a rich diversity of wildlife, including coyotes, foxes, ocelots, and various species of hawks and eagles.
Rising over 2,000 meters (6561 feet) above sea level, Santa Ana is the highest active volcano in El Salvador. Once we reach the summit, we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of its four craters, with the standout being the one that houses a striking light blue sulfur lake. Additionally, the panoramic vistas of the neighboring volcanoes and Lake Coatepeque will leave you in awe.
After soaking in the breathtaking panoramic views, we’ll begin our descent. Whenever you like, we can pause during the hike to enjoy the lunch or snacks you brought along. It's sure to be a well-earned meal, having conquered the summit of Santa Ana volcano!
Then, after an incredible 9 to 10 hours, we'll bring the experience to an end by dropping you off at the initial meeting point in El Tunco.
