Angra dos Reis is a hidden gem on the southeastern coast of Brazil, boasting crystal-clear waters, lush Atlantic rainforest, and a myriad of tropical islands. It's the perfect place for those looking to unwind on stunning beaches, dive into vibrant marine life, and discover untouched natural beauty. With its laid-back atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder that so many travelers fall in love with this tropical paradise.

A Glimpse Into the Past

Once a crucial gateway for Brazil’s sugar and coffee trade, Angra dos Reis has a rich history that dates back to the 16th century. Its charming colonial architecture and historic churches reflect a time when the town thrived as an important port, adding character to its spectacular landscapes.

When to Plan Your Trip

The warm and sunny climate makes this destination inviting year-round. However, the months from May to September are especially pleasant, with lower humidity and fewer rainy days—ideal for enjoying boat trips, snorkeling, and hiking. If you prefer quieter beaches, avoid Brazilian holidays and weekends.

How do I get to Angra dos Reis?

The town is about a two-hour drive from Rio de Janeiro, which is the nearest international airport. You can reach it by car or bus, and many tours conveniently include transportation.
